Approaches to displaying data protection information in Dialogue
Organisations using Dialogue choose different approaches to displaying data protection information when participants are registering to use the site, so we thought it might be useful to share some examples below.
You can read the UK ICO's guidance on seeking consent from data subjects here - this will be particularly useful for organisations looking to comply with the GDPR.
Note. In addition to the below content, the privacy notice of the organisation is always linked to from the footer of every page in Dialogue.
Default: Text on registration form
The registration form on your Dialogue site includes some text confirming that "By registering, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to our terms of use, privacy policy and moderation policy", and it links directly to the Terms of Use and policy pages so participants can read more information if they wish.
Gold-plated approach: Required question on registration form
One of our customers has added a required question to their registration form which requires participants to actively indicate their consent to their data being processed before they can register to join the site.
