Release notes: Dialogue v2.4
v2.4 of Dialogue was rolled out to customer sites on Thursday 19 October 2017.
The vast majority of the improvements it delivered were to help make sure things are displaying clearly and correctly, and that you're able to do what you need to without encountering unexpected errors.
However it also included a few small updates to both the management side and the user experience - read on for more details, and drop your customer success manager a line if you have any questions.
Comment-specific creation dates in comments export
The Dialogue comments export used to show the date that each comment's parent idea was created rather than the date that the comment itself was posted, which puzzled one of our customers.
We took that feedback on board and updated the export so that you can now see specific creation dates for the comments themselves.
Minimising duplicate user names
It was previously possible for Dialogue users to register with a duplicate username if at least one character was in a different case from the existing version of that username. For example, one user could register as NWilliams and another could register as nwilliams.
To help minimise any potential confusion caused by users registering with almost identical usernames, we changed the registration process so this is no longer possible. Dialogue will warn a new user if their choice of username is already registered, regardless of the case of the characters.
Confirmation page for 'change password' form
One of our customers gave us feedback that the "change password" form was missing a confirmation page to let the user know that the change has been successful, so some of their users were unsure whether the password had successfully been updated or not.
We therefore added a success message to give your users assurance that their password has been changed.
