Map settings: choosing a tileset
This article is for Citizen Space Geospatial. Please speak to your customer success manager if you are interested in learning more about it.
What are map tiles?
Raster map tiles are a set of squared images placed next to each other, each with a fixed geographical area and scale. A tileset is a collection of these tiles that cover a specific area and often have a dedicated style or purpose. For example, Ordnance Survey provide a tile set call Road, which is designed to show the roads clearly.
Choosing a tileset for your map
Your site will have a default tileset, but this can be changed on a per-page basis.
You can either choose to keep it this way or change it to better suit your specific map's purpose.
To change your tileset:
- Select ‘Edit map settings’ from the left hand menu.
- Select the desired Tileset from the ‘Map appearance’ dropdown.
- Select Save Changes.
- Preview the page to see how that tileset appears (optional).
