Geospatial data formats
This article is for Citizen Space Geospatial. Please speak to your customer success manager if you are interested in learning more about it.
Geospatial has been designed to support 2 main vector data formats used by GIS software:
- Shapefiles
- GeoJSON
Importing data into Geospatial
Geospatial can import data in either Shapefile or GeoJSON format — these can be used to configure map layers on the base map.
A detailed overview on how to do this can be found in our Configuring your map layers article.
Exporting data from Geospatial
Geospatial data can be exported in the Shapefile format which can then be imported by GIS software for further analysis or manipulation. This allows you to use data collected via Geospatial in a way that suits your existing GIS workflow without modifying the information submitted by a respondent.
