Release notes: Citizen Space v8.8

Citizen Space version 8.8 was released the week beginning 12th January 2026.

This update includes new answer components and some general maintenance and security improvements.

New Image choice answer component

You can now present answer options as images instead of text, making it easier for respondents to understand their choices. Choose between radio button style for single-choice questions or checkbox style for multiple selections. Find out more.

Why it matters

Visual answer options make consultations more accessible and clearer, particularly for planning consultations, transport schemes, or climate initiatives where showing options is more effective than describing them. Respondents can see exactly what they're being asked about, improving the quality of feedback you receive.
