'Call to Action' box - how to change the text

What is the 'Call To Action'?
The Call To Action box appears by default at the bottom of the overview page with a coloured border. Depending on the activity type, it either provides a link to access the online survey questions or, if you have created one of the other activity types, then it's usually used to provide information about how people can respond.
This article provides instructions on how to edit the text within the Call To Action box for all types of Citizen Space activities.
The default heading eg the first line, always defaults to "Give Us Your Views".
The default link text eg the second line, varies depending on the type of activity:
- For an online survey, the default link text simply says 'Online Survey', as shown in the screenshot.
- For an email/postal activity, the link text shows the title that you enter when uploading the document.
- For a link activity, the link text shows the title that you enter when specifying the external link.
- For an offline activity, there is no link; the Call To Action box simply contains text, such as instructions on how people can participate.
How do I change the 'Give us your views' heading?
Regardless of the activity type, this heading can be edited on the main 'Edit Activity Details' page:
- Navigate to the activity dashboard.
- Click item 1 - "Edit Activity Details" in the publishing summary at the top of the dashboard.
Scroll down until you see a field labelled "Call To Action Heading". It defaults to 'Give us your views':
- Edit this text, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Save".
How do I edit the link/body text?
Editing the link text for an Online Survey
- Navigate to the activity dashboard.
- Select item 2 - Online Survey at the top of the dashboard. This will take you to the 'Online Survey Settings' page
At the top of the settings you will see a field called 'Call To Action':
- Change the 'Link Text' field to say whatever you like, and select the 'Save' button at the bottom of the form
Editing the link text for an email/postal activity
- Navigate to the activity dashboard.
- Select item 2 - 'Downloadable Document' at the top of the dashboard
- Update the 'Title for Document' field:
- Click 'Save' at the bottom of the form.
Editing the link text for a link activity
- Navigate to the activity dashboard.
- Select item 2 - 'Link' in the publishing summary at the top of the dashboard.
- Update the 'Title For Link' field:
- Click 'Save' at the bottom of the form.
Editing the Call To Action text for an offline activity
- Navigate to the activity dashboard.
- Select item 2 - 'Explanatory Text' in the publishing summary at the top of the dashboard.
- Update the 'Description' field:
- Click 'Save' at the bottom of the form.

How can I check that the text was changed properly?
You can preview your activity as a member of the public would see it, at any time before you publish.
I can't see the 'Online Survey' link on the dashboard?
For Online Surveys, you should find the link on the activity dashboard:
This link will always say 'Online Survey' even if you have previously changed the text that's displayed to respondents in the Call To Action box. This keeps the admin interface consistent, and prevents confusion if other users of the system also need to edit the survey.
If you can't see this link on the dashboard then the activity you are looking at may not be an Online Survey (read more about the different activity types) or you may not have permission to edit it(read more about user permissions).
