Filtering your Citizen Space activities by language
When consulting with more diverse communities, many of our Citizen Space customers make their activities more accessible by offering them in more than one language. If your organisation does this, you might want to enable a feature that lets your internal admins filter by language on the Manage Activities page (the main page where they can see all the activities they have access to).
This feature is switched off in Citizen Space sites by default, but we can switch it on for any customer organisation that has published activities in a language other than English and would like an easy way to be able to filter that subset of activities. There are two main benefits of using this feature to filter your activities by language:
- It helps your admins to keep track of relevant activities to them, for example if they have a role that involves being responsible for all of the activities in a particular language, such as a Welsh translator.
- It enables you to easily present a filtered list of activities in a particular language on your Citizen Space homepage, on a separate Citizen Space page or elsewhere on the Internet, for example if you wanted to create a curated page that just presents content and activities in Māori.
Please contact either support@delib.net or your Customer Success Manager if you would like us to enable this feature for you.
Once the feature has been enabled, you will see it appear in two places:
- On the 1. Edit Activity Details page for setting up a new activity, there will be a dropdown where your admins can select the relevant language for the activity. (It will be roughly the 4th item down in the list of things that can be edited on that page, after the Private Activity checkbox.)
- On the Manage Activities page, where admins can see a list of all the activities they have access to, there will be a dropdown where they can filter all activities by language.
In both places, this dropdown will feature a long list of possible languages. This list is designed to cover all of the languages we expect that you may publish activities in. It is not a list of activities that are supported in Citizen Space.
